one thing that compounds my problem is the night before i have to speak I lie awake and if and when i do fall asleep i sweat like crazy. so the next day i am always tired!

The same problem I have too and I'm too concerned if I have myself a sleeping inducer, like ambien, then I will not have all my wits about me the next day for the talk.

Here I go again. I am an medical expert in a certain field, and I am asked each year to speak at a specific conference (which I won't name). Last year I did a great job and I was excited to be asked back. The conference is this coming Wednesday--- and my insides are squirming already while my head is already playing tricks with me. I hate it, and I know better. In fact, my expertise relates to activities of the brain. Funny huh--- NOT.

I am NEVER the same after a sleeping pill. Others I have heard said it doesnt bother them, but it makes me brain dead.
