I practice breathing and relaxation techniques. Also what they say about getting acquainted with the environment in which you will be speaking prior to going up and presenting has always worked for me. I like to arrive early and meet and greet the people as they walk in, which helps me relax and takes the edge off.

I also agree with the other person about not having caffeine or stimulants. Good luck Everyone!

I'm actually more nervous two days before. The actual night before I usually just resign myself that there is nothing I can do and I sleep well. Its the weeks leading up that are so torturous.

my breath always used to get short and shallow when the panic took over. definately good breathing technique is a must.

take long breaths in from your nose and out of your mouth. keep it smooth and even.

at the same time, enforce positive thinking while doing this.

I always pick a few positive thoughts and just let them take up all the space in my mind so it doesn't have anywhere else to go.

I prepare. I go through my speech at least a dozen times. I practice to relax. Most of the advise on the web is helpful. Also no caffeine the day of. carol
