Build up your public speaking self confidence

One of the tragic mistakes man makes, is to strive to be what some other person is. To emulate another man's virtue is wisdom. But trying to fit one self into his shoes is folly. The way to personal growth and realization is to be one's own self.

One's self-unfoldment must always be in line with one's own capacities and individual potential. We do not like to think of failure as being the result of our own weaknesses, faults and inadequacies. It hurts our pride to admit, even to our own self, that it is not the way we live or fate or to a large extent any of the forces outside of us, but rather our own shortcomings that defeat us.

It is true that man may be handicapped by hereditary or environmental factors over which he has no control. Financial and social causes such as economic depressions and war also seriously hinder one's progress. But the significant fact is that, many men overcome these obstructions and rise to glorious heights and happiness, by their own undaunted efforts and perseverance. And it is only reasonable that if some men could achieve this, then it must be in the power of all human beings to shape their future and rise to victory, inspite of all the difficulties.

You may never be able to speak without some nervous anxiety just before you begin. But, through perseverance you could eradicate everything, but the initial fear, which also would disappear once you have spoken for a few seconds. If you want to succeed, you should have persistence and  determination.

Whenever you go out in public, draw the chin in, carry the crown of your head high and fill the lungs with fresh air. Drink in the sunshine.

Greet your friends with a smile and put your soul into whatever you do. Try to fix firmly in your mind what you want to do and then, without any hesitation or changing the direction, proceed straight to achieve this goal.

Keep your mind glued to the great and splendid things you would like to do. As the days go gliding by, you will find yourself unconsciously seizing upon the opportunities that are thrown open before you. Do not  worry about being misunderstood and also do not waste a minute worrying about your enemies.

Thought is supreme. Preserve the right mental attitude. Draw your chin in and keep the crown of head high.

We are Gods in the chrysalis.
